Biography
When I was 8 years old I wrote a story titled “The Knight and the Ten Headed Dragon” that was ten computer pages long and several teachers were so intrigued by my writing skills that I got 3 school days where I was allowed to stay in the computer lab and finish it instead of regular class. The adults were impressed with the intricate storyline and characters but a little concerned at the love making scenes that an 8 year old conceived between the Knight and the princess along with my use of foul language and violent actions scenes.
When I was 9 years old I was selected to attend a special MAP program for children who excelled in Math and science.
At 11 years old my family moved to our new house that my mom bought and I was scared the place was haunted for the first two years even though no paranormal activity ever happened. I use to watch horror movies late night and just assume it was going to now happen to me because we were in a new house. I would wonder if someone died in the house and if their spirit was stuck in limbo. I really freaked myself out for a while.
At 15 I made the junior varsity basketball team at John Marshall High School, which was a well-known school for it’s, b-ball team at the time. I was a long shot to make it but at tryouts I lit the gym up and had the best shooting day ever in front of the coaches.
At 19 years old a close friend was shot after a night of playing basketball together. He was in the hospital for 2 months fighting for his life. I along with two other friends devised an intricate plan to find the guy responsible for the shooting because he was on the run. This plan —involved me buying military grade hand grenades and picking the lock to the house the guy was staying at whenever we found him. The plan was foiled when I came out of my mom’s house early one morning to take out the trash and realized the Rochester PD had assigned an unmarked car to tail me and keeps tabs of my whereabouts. I watched 3 or 4 episodes of Law and Order and realized I would NEVER be able to beat the forensic experts, so I had to let it go.
After high school graduation I became the first person in my family to go to college out of state.
My freshman year of college I was known to walk around with a video camera casually recording my daily activities and interactions with people. I considered myself to be documenting my college experience for my friends and family who had never been away from our small town in Upstate New York. And this was in the year 2000 so it was long before the days of everyone having a smart phone with a camera in it. This earned me a reputation around campus of being someone who was likely to end up being a television director or producer. Without realizing it – I actually was kinda filming my own reality tv show.
At 24 years old right after college graduation and a sudden break up with my long time college girlfriend—I decided to pursue my dream of being a television writer. I moved to New York City with only $220, two suitcases and my Acura RL. I was determined to make it in NYC no matter how hard I had to work or how long it took. I landed my first job and went from sleeping in my car to having my own apartment and meeting a girl who was a model/actress!
In my mid and late 20’s I worked a string of professional jobs that I hated that ranged from a car rental place where I dealt with insanely demanding rich customers who were assholes to working overnight managing a large team of 50 employees restocking a big box retailer and working 15 hour days. At this time I hated that I was not able to create or write much and I felt so far away and disconnected to the film and Tv business. It felt as though I would never find a way to break into television writing.
At 29 years old I formed my own film production company MindBender Entertainment and began writing and producing my own short films and Tv concepts. I took a page from the “book of Jay-Z” record labels wouldn’t sign him so he created his own. I felt like it was taking way too long to meet this magically person who had the keys to the kingdom—so I created my own company to write and produce my own content--- turns out it was a GREAT THING.
I was able to get out of retail business and into being an Anti Money Laundering investigator for International banks with the help of a friend. At this point I now regularly work and am in correspondence with the FBI and law enforcement to stop real life international bad guys and people doing crimes. I have kinda become a super hero of a sort and have gained a wealth of knowledge and now have a unique batch of stories and experiences that I use when creating characters and storylines.
My short horror thriller film Hell of a New Year wins best picture at the Oklahoma Barebones Festival in 2018. It also won Best Horror Short at the Los Angeles Film Awards and Won an Award in Europe for best cinematography and Won a Remi Award for best Horror short at the Houston International Film Festival. I wrote and produced 4 episodes of my web series The No Sex Chronicles which has gotten over 2.5 Million views on Youtube. My Tv pilot “Souls of Grand Central” received positive reviews on the Blacklist and made the 2nd round of the Austin Film Festival. I am currently editing my latest completed short film Happy Hour that I wrote, produced and directed. I have grown my overall social media audience to about 200K people across all platforms.
